Summer Plans in Academia

As the weather is starting to get sunnier and warmer, everyone starts wondering about fancy and exotic locations to go to on next summer…everyone but those who’ve committed themselves to research in academia. I’ve already given up to the idea that summer, for a PhD student, is when the usual summer tanning is replaced by increased work and productivity, driven by the large amount of work that piles up inevitably during our projects; especially at the end when a subtle anxiety suddenly hits you reminding you how close is the finish line.

I’ve come across a couple of funny comics that will depict our shared situation.

And you, what are your plans for next summer?
Let’s have a laugh.
